a big compliment

Yesterday I received one of the nicest compliments I have ever received. After a long morning of lecture we went to get the kids. They were bring watched by "Uncle Franz" & "Uncle Elias". They had all the kids already sat in their seats at the lunch table and had fed them most of their lunch. John and I decided to take lunch home and eat in peace so cleaned off the kids and said, "say thank you to Uncle Franz & Uncle Elias". Jack looked at both of them and told them "thank you Uncle Franz, thank you Uncle Elias". Franz looked right at my eyes and said, "you really have great children, they listen to us...you know, they are really fun to be around."
Wow. He could have stopped at great & listen...but to hear that my children are actually "fun to be around"! It really brought so much encouragement to my heart. John and I are really "staying on top of" Jack right now with manners, discipline, respect & stewardship and to hear that it's paying off was the best compliment ever!

"Uncle Franz" is on the very left in the blue shirt. This is an almost whole group shot of our class! It was Richard (from England)'s birthday.

Poor Jack got bit by a bug at the park the other day. We weren't there with him but the people watching him said he came running up crying and saying "bug, big bug" and holding his neck...

He also has a heat rash...possibly because it's been the 2nd hottest summer in Perth's history & hottest summer in 33 years!! Did we mention no air conditioning at our apartment or at at the base? ...never really the chance to cool his body down!

Then he fell on a cement block/step at the park last night...

Hmmm. Please just pray for Jack...he also had diarrhea last night...lots of stuff going on with his little body!!
