FREE BREAD AT YWAM PERTH!
One of the major bonuses of the YWAM Perth base is the free bread!! Every day loaves & loaves of free bread get delivered to the base & we get to take them for FREE! Gorgeous fresh baked bakery bread! White, Whole Wheat, Mulit-Grain, Baguette, Sesame, Poppy Seed, rolls, "Bird-Seed Bread" (I call it), Raisin buns, Raisin/Apricot/Cherry Bread...mmmm, it's all so delicious! We've changed our diet & we eat bread morning, afternoon & night (literally). You'd think, "oh my, they must be packing on some pounds with all that bread eating!" Nope...we walk so much throughout the day that when I weighed myself today I had lost 5 lbs! Ha! Bring on the butter soaked, jam layered toasted goodness!! I often think how cool it is that Jesus is the Bread of Life...what an amazing name to be called!
So, in the last posting we mentioned our accommodation. Well, it remained difficult until yesterday when we found out that out of the blue we would be changed to new housing! Praise the Lord!!! We had told our school leader, Ari, that we would remain where we were despite the difficulties but regretted that within 12 hours...but we never went back on our word & we still got blessed with a new place! Tomorrow we should be all settled in & I'll take pictures.
For now, this is what we moved out of:

The room how it was when we walked in, jet-lagged & exhausted & dripping in sweat! (minus the "evaporative cooler" which was added after temps in the room reached 90 degrees!)

(minus the pack n play...we had to go buy that for Violet so she had somewhere to sleep...)

As we were moving out Cayla (the single mom living in another room in this house) said, "maybe I should try to take the mirror off the wall again!" I said, "again?" & she said, "yeah before you guys moved in I tried but it was stuck pretty good...none of the other rooms have a mirror, you guys got lucky"! Ha!
Not to sound ungrateful, I think we were just surprised. Us 4 Wittys all in this room with no windows, 90 degree heat, mattress on the floor for Jack & no bed for Violet. Apparently this is normal though. They said this was typical for families & many families had stayed in this room before with no issues...yikes, I guess we must be crazy!
Can we set something straight? We are totally up for this when we go on outreach in April...bring on the one room, walking to the bathrooms, etc. etc. but we're not on outreach yet. We felt that during these three months we're really needing to focus on the Lord & to be honest the living situation was a huge distraction. At the end of the day we're just very thankful that we've moved & tomorrow I'll post with pictures of our new "flat"!

Something we will miss about our old place is the people living there! Stanka, Ivan, Ninka, Natalka, Steve, Beth, Cayla & Isaac really became special to us in just 14 days! It was the main reason we went to Ari & told him we would stay where we were (if we could just have a place where we could lay Violet down for a nap-but there wasn't a couple extra feet of available space to do that). Jack & Violet both loved the people in our house & would call them by name after only a few days of being there. The good part - we can go visit anytime & because the base is so small he gets to see them daily anyways!
These girls, Ninka & Natalka are both so sweet! They love to play with Violet, hold her and chase her around. They are also so sweet to Jack - laughing with him, wrestling him & helping him draw.

Little Vi running around a huge park called Kings Park. It was SO hot & she refused to wear her hat...she'd take it off & then run away giggling! She's quite the stinker lately but she's so cute we're not sure what to do! Ha!

Enjoying the free bread! (the background is our new apartment, "wahoo" in the words of Jack!)

Beth! We all went to the park for a farewell party for Don, one of our DTS classmates who unfortunately needs to return to the States for some family matters. Will you say a quick prayer for Don? That would be awesome! He was SUCH a blessing in his 2 weeks with us. I commented to Birgit - if we're sad saying goodbye after only 2 weeks, imagine how we'll all be after 6 months...

Bruno (classmate) catching William (classmate's son)!

The farewell party bus. It looks crazy & it is crazy but it's a lot of fun & through it all we truly are thankful to be here.
Thank YOU for supporting us as we go forward.
