Goodbye 2010...Hello Australia!
Hope your Christmas was happy & special...ours was!
Christmas started a little early for Jack because of us leaving January 5. Mimi (Grandma) wanted Jack to have some time to play with some of his toys so she gave him a couple things early...one thing was this fireman set - hat & fake coat! I could never capture & express his SHEER excitement...it was priceless and hilarious! He STARED at himself in the mirror just beaming. He has loved ANYTHING firetrucks for the last 6 months & when we think he'll get sick of receiving/seeing/hearing one more firetruck we're always wrong! This boy LOVES firetrucks!

He put it straight to use in Mimi's backyard - he was "inspecting" everything and could tell he felt quite official! Here he is checking the dryer vent and saying "hot" because warm air was blowing out of it! Ha!

Cutest fireman I've ever seen!

Family tradition - MONKEY BREAD!!! YUUUUMMMMY!

We ate it ALL day long on Christmas & even heated it up the next day!

Violet loved the wrapping most of all!

Jack got a view finder & it was hilarious to watch him do it!

Literally jumping up & down at the train set up under the mini-tree!

Eating "salame" (said with a lisp) & proscuitto & cheese! LOVES this snack!

Love this little angel face!

Violet looking at the lights on the tree...we love this little head!

Watcha doing daddy? (John took these shots)!

All dressed in their nice Christmas clothes to go to Papa & Mimi's house!

My mom with Roxanne & Rylie

All the girls got purses...Violet's had a little stuffed doggie in it & she carried it around proudly & hugged it!

Jack & Violet got a DVD player for the plane ride...& head phones...here they are testing it out! Ha!

Jack got these connecty things & he LOVES them! We make big long drive-thru car washes with them & he says "Mimi does"...I leared my mom has had him in the car while she's gone through the drive car wash!

SOOOOO much fun!

Little man that takes the money for the car wash!

They also got little sleeping bags for the plane & Australia...we zipped the two together & put them in it & they cracked up and wrestled & laughed forever!

Vi loves her blankie & rubs the little silk edge through her pretty little fingers!

Dutch...worried as ever & we started to pack & then the red dresser where he slept all night started getting empty...

All the cousins in their jammies!

Hanging out!

Rachel with Violet on her shoulder!

Bottle time...this time of the day is the BEST! They are SOOOO sweet!

Violet LOVES LOVES LOVES Papa!!! She says Papa whenever she hears the door open, when she sees him or just randomly points at him & says Papa! She sits so still in his lap & loves to be with him!

Violet taking everything out of the bag we had packed for Australia...

A gorgeous TRIPLE rainbow (at one point)...here's Jack & John...our little family being reassured that God has a promise for us and as we leave for Australia we can rest assured His plan is PERFECT & He'll guide us the whole way!
PLEASE PRAY!!! We leave tonight at 10:15pm...22 hours of travel (just the flying) & 3 hours in the car prior....we really lean on your prayers!
Thanks and LOVE!
Will update as soon as we can!!!
Blessings,
John, Laurie, Jack & Violet

Violet laying on my (Laurie's) blankie & wearing my jacket from when I was her age!

All the 2nd cousins on the Whitten side!

Violet with glow Santa & mini-Christmas tree...in her China silk jammies from Stephanie & Mike & Abbey Rosenhahn! She LOVES them!!!

Posing by the Christmas tree with no ornaments on the bottom half...little curious hands find them & pull them off! HA!
